The Reception Room at The Stables have had a busy week this week celebrating Children's Art Week, Wimbledon and nursery being back open for one whole year since lockdown!
They have had lots of messy play using a wide variety of resources to explore different patterns, pictures and textures. The children added paper to the garden fence outside and used crayons to make marks; they enjoyed practising writing their letters on uneven surfaces and there were giggles all round whilst drawing "wibbly wobbly" letters!
To celebrate Wimbledon, the children created a large scale painting to make a banner, tracing the letters with paintbrushes, before adding LOTS of beautiful sparkles!
On Tuesday everybody wore colourful rainbow clothes and made "Open Again Birthday" cakes. The children used their measuring skills to add the flour and butter, and practised counting when they added the eggs and raisins. They were DELICIOUS!
We can't wait to see what is in store for next week!
